IGEL Setup
IGEL UD2 Setup (New model with browser)
- Double click the Setup button on the Application Launcher screen.
- Click on the Network tab.
- If a static IP address is required, select Specify an IP address and
in the IP Address box replace 192.0.0.1 with the static IP address. Enter the
subnet mask in the Network Mask box. Under Default Gateway check the enable box
and enter the gateway IP address in the box. Check the Enable DNS box. Enter the
DNS server IP addresses in the Nameserver boxes.
- Verify the COM1 port is 9600 baud.
- Click on the Session tab.
- Click the Add button.
- From the Select Session Type list choose Powerterm Emulation.
- On the Powerterm Emulation Setup screen under the Emulation tab check VT 320
7bit in the VT Terminals section.
- Under the Connection tab enter the name or IP address of the CSM server in
the Host name box.
- Enter a name for the terminal (ex. register1) in the Terminal name box.
- Under the Printer tab uncheck the Use form feed box.
- Under the Printer tab check the 'Bypass OS print filter' box.
- Under the Window tab check the Show Menubar box.
- Under the Title tab check the Autostart box.
- Click OK.

- If using an older serial printer you must obtain and plug in a USB
to 9 pin serial cable.
- In the IGEL setup click on the devices tab.
- Click on the Printer tab.
- Click on the CUPS icon.
- Click on the Printer icon.
- Click on the STAR ICON to add new printer.

- IF using a serial printer set the following:
- Set Printer Port box to 'Serial Port Printer'.
- Set Serial Device box 'USB COM1'.
- IF using a USB printer set the following:
- Set Printer Port box to 'USB Printer'.
- Set USB device box to '1st USB printer' or used the 'detect device' button.

- Set Manufacturer to 'GENERIC'.
- Set Printernames box to 'Raw Queue'.
- Click OK to close Printer tab.
- Click the set default button.
- Click OK to Close Setup menu.
- To VERIFY everything is saved, REBOOT.
IGEL Classic Setup (Older model, no browser)
- Double click the Setup button on the Application Launcher screen.
- Click on the Network tab.
- If a static IP address is required, select Specify an IP address and
in the IP Address box replace 192.0.0.1 with the static IP address. Enter the
subnet mask in the Network Mask box. Under Default Gateway check the enable box
and enter the gateway IP address in the box. Check the Enable DNS box. Enter the
DNS server IP addresses in the Nameserver boxes.
- Verify the COM1 port is 9600 baud.
- Click on the Session tab.
- Click the Add button.
- From the Select Session Type list choose Powerterm Emulation.

- Back in setup click on the Printer tab.
- Under the LPD tab click on lp_com1.
- Click the set default button.
- To VERIFY everything is saved, REBOOT.
IGEL Firmware Update
- Double click Setup on the Application Launcher under the Applications tab.
If the Application Launcher is not visible, click the Start button (left side of
the task bar) and choose Application Launcher from the menu.
- At the IGEL Setup screen click on the Update tab.
- The screen should read: Firmware Update by FTP Server. Enter the following
information in the appropriate fields.
Server Name: ftp.cpc-i.com
Server Path: 0104032-3.06.315
User Name: kaycee
Password: igelupdate
- Click the Update Now button. The update should load automatically; the thin
client may restart several times before update is complete.
- DO NOT UNPLUG OR TURN OFF THIN CLIENT UNTIL UPGRADE IS FINISHED!!!
- If update fails with DNS error resolving ftp.cpc-i.com, change Server Name
to 168.215.80.38 and retry.
